As we head into the festive season, our celebrations begun a little early this year! Not with festivities though… We are incredibly proud to announce that members of our team were shortlisted as finalists in three categories at this year’s Surrey Care Awards.
Here’s a rundown of our amazing finalists:
1 – Care worker of the year:
Daphne, usually found at our Caterham Day Service, was shortlisted for Care Worker of the Year! She has been working with us since 2011 and has always shown compassion, empathy, and humour. She has helped our customers cope with the challenges of COVID-19 and made them feel valued and welcomed. She is a wonderful colleague and an asset to our organisation. We are proud to have her on our team and we hope she will receive the recognition she deserves on the night!
2 – Team of the Year:
The Surrey Dayspace Teams were shortlisted for their dedication to providing pioneering, progressive, beneficial, and fun day services to adults with a learning disability. The teams across Caterham and Reigate were shortlisted in the team of the year category for small and medium-sized businesses. Being shortlisted for this award recognises the skill and talent that each person brings to the team, and we are immensely proud of the work they do!
3 – Registered Manager of the Year:
Dana Thompson was nominated for the Registered Managers Awards as a respected and stable influence; Dana delivers extra training for staff from the perspective of the clients using the service. In 6-months, she changed the service in its ratings, increasing service users’ access to activities and enabling the best quality of life possible. Every day, you can see the positive impact that she has on the people we support and is deserving of being shortlisted.
Whilst, unfortunately, it wasn’t our night and we didn’t win any of these awards, we’re thrilled to have had shortlisted nominees for these three categories and we feel it recognises the dedication of the teams that work hard, day in day out. Congratulations to all!
