Volunteer
with Dayspace

Volunteering is an excellent way to support local care services, contribute to your community, gain new skills and experiences, and make a difference to others. It can help to build confidence and boost your wellbeing, as well as benefit both the people who work in and draw on adult social care services.

Why volunteer with Dayspace

Here at Dayspace, we welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Whether you’re looking to complete your volunteering requirements for a Duke of Edinburgh Award, wanting to try out a possible new career, or just searching for something a bit different to do with your days (or for any other reason!), we have a space with your name on.

No two days – or even sessions – at Dayspace are the same. But one you can be sure of across all the activities we deliver: the joy and fulfilment they bring to our customers. In fact, we challenge you not to walk out of a session with a smile on your face!

How it works

We run a range of person-centred day services for adults with learning disabilities across our three Surrey-based Dayspace locations: Reigate, Penge and Warlingham. Between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, customers can take part in a broad spectrum of sessions including music, cookery, dance, digital skills, art, drama, and podcasting. Activity sessions last either 60 or 90 minutes and have between 4 and 18 participants (depending on the session itself).

Each session is run by a qualified team who specialise in creating content that’s tailored to the individual needs and personalities of our customers. Our volunteers work alongside the session leaders in helping to deliver activities that engage and develop attendees, in a positive and encouraging environment.
